So in books all the school work for students is done on rolls of parchment rather than notebooks but in the movies they do use notebooks. What do you prefer notebooks or rolls of parchment? And why?

Notebook. While I wouldn't mind using parchment for the final drafts, it's very expensive and the rolls are unwieldy. Same reason I'd still use pencils rather than quills for most work.
