What race do you view Hermione as? I've always viewed her as African American, and now with Cursed Child, we see her portrayed like this. How do you like to think of Hermione?

Hermione cant possibly be black, and this bothered me a lot about the cursed child, can’t be because the book mentions a bunch of times that she blushed red, or turned pink etc
I can Image Hermione as black the only reason why they chose Emma and Norma is cause they were the best for the job not cause their race
Hermione is amazing black or white
Omg. Didn’t mean it as an a insult, just meant to say that JK Rowling didn’t have her as Colored.
I know that british people use the word "black" to describe a lot of people who aren't really that much dark skinned, but sometimes I feel people forget there's a huge variety of skin tones that are very light and still called black. Of course, if Hermione had a very dark skin, we wouldn't be able to see her blush. But she could be blushing nonetheless :)
Who cause black or white she a queen she was a girl who went to an amazing school ace her test survived a war was better then people who grow up wizards destroying a Horcrux and stand up for the enslaved and her friends
HermioneGinnyLuna13 i suppose that’s true, but like many others are saying, she objectively white.
I have always seen her as half black, half white. Not sure why, that's just what my mind conjured up.
Hermione is actually brown but when Emma Watson portrayed her, Hermione is white
Well, I've always imagined her as white, and i know it doesn't matter and that she's an amazing character and all that but I'd love to know for sure what my favorite character actually looks like!
Now, as others pointed out:
- JK never says for example "Ron was tall with rather large feet and white skin" she never describes the color of the skin unless that person is black, because most are white, this i think is the most pertinent argument.
- Then there's "Hermione went slightly pink" I'm not sure that if she was black that blushing would be visible.
I believe it's cursed child that made us think she might be black, and it almost feels like JK doesn't wanna give a definite answer, it's like if she's letting us enjoy imagining her the way we want.
JKR wrote that she intended Hermione to be 'Black British'
