HARON
Welcome to the wiki!
Me. Me and me.
Meee
I don’t. To me it never seemed that Harry really noticed that Hermione was a girl at all. She was just as much his ‘best mate’ as Ron and the dynamics between them to me didn’t suggest more either. I think Harry ‘friend zoned’ Hermione too much too early on. I think it could have happened and they woud have made a good couple potentionally the books were just not written a lot like that. In the Percy Jackson books the two main character Annabeth and Percy are a lot like Hermione and Harry (except Percy is less serious than Harry and more silly) and the chemistry between them is real strong from the beginning - they became best friends too but the moment puberty hit them it was obviously that they fancied each other. To me that was missing from the Harry/Hermione relationship and I liked with Hermione/Ron - the whole bickering and jealousy. And many actually theorize that Ginny used love potion and whatnot on Harry because suddenly he had a crush on her and then why not on Hermione, etc. When Ginny was a pretty new friend to him and pretty much as he learned more and more about her he eventually started fancying her (especially as Cho got out of the picture).
So, yes, I could see the two of them together but I feel like they really thought of each other as siblings (both only children so they probably wanted to find someone like that too) than potential love interests from too early age. There just was never the point where I felt that their love for each other was anything but friendly unlike with Hermione/Ron or the mentioned Annabeth/percy where there were always moments suggesting that at least one of the couple wanted more than friendship.
At first i really thought they would date each other. But then there was Ginny and everything changed
I actually don’t think that Hermione should have gone out with either of the boys in the Golden Trio, bc they have known each other since the were 11, so yes, I suppose Hermione loves both of them, but probably mostly in a sisterly kind of way. No offence to anyone, but I kind of think that Ron is a bit of a moron. ( idk if that’s a bad word and if that will need to be remained. Plz notify me if it is.) Anyways, Ron will probably never match Hermione’s intellectual prowess. Plz don’t get mad at me, but I’m a Dramione shipper. You might be thinking, but why? Draco was terribly mean to Hermione throughout their hogwarts years, but people tease each other when the like each other, and Draco is actually pretty smart too, so the are both intellectuals, so it might actually work out.
^Bullying isn't teasing, there's a difference.
Yes! Of course Harry and Hermione should have ended up together! I think it is really obvious and natural. But I am so sorry Rowling at the time didn't want a really happy ending for her books: she let some bitter throughout the 7th book like some sad deaths and unlikely relationships ...
