I feel like they’d have been perfect. Aside from being a total clown (which Hermione totally needs in a partner to lighten her up a bit) but he was also incredibly sweet, caring, and loyal. Also the age difference would given him more maturity than Ron which again Hermione needs in a partner. (Yeah I know what you’re thinking Fred wasn’t mature but just listen for a second) Fred may have been a prankster and a goof ball but he was also a successful business owner who managed to keep his and George’s store open even when the entire Diagon Ally was shut down. He was a part of the DA and came back to fight bravely in the battle of Hogwarts without question. He was also a partial provider for his family and even though him and George were middle children they helped care for both Ron and Ginny whenever necessary. Also never underestimate the power of a joke that lightens the mood in a horrible situation which Fred was always full of. I also feel like Fred never underestimated Hermione or thought lesser of her for any reason (which Ron TOTALLY did ALL the time) Fred always knew Hermione was the brightest and best which around (in OoP Fred actually bets on her to win the duel with Ron) Freds masculinity wasn’t tied to being better than a girl, he was secure in his own talents and own abilities. In short, my heart is breaking and I’m going down on this ship of what could have been.

I think that they would argue SO MUCH. Personally, I think Ron and Hermoine go together better. Hermoine balances out Ron

I’m not sure but I think jkr was gonna kill either Ron or Fred and whoever she didn’t kill would and up with hermione

I think they would have balanced each other more than her and Ron do. Fred could teach her to have fun and she could teach him to be a bit more serious. Together they would have been close to unstoppable.
