One question about sacrificial protection. "When the person to make the sacrifice dies, the counter-charm is so powerful that the murderer can not physically touch the intended victim, as the protection lives on in their veins" If that's the case, why is Professor Quirrell able to try and choke Harry yet when Harry touches his hand it crumbles??

I'm pretty sure the choking was only in the movie and never mentioned in the book. That makes it just another mistake of the movies.
Although this is only an issue in the movies, heres what I think. I feel it's because Voldemort was in Quirrell. Voldemort wasn't in control of Quirrell's body when Quirrell choked Harry. Quirrell was the one actually touching Harry at that point on Voldemort's orders. Then when Harry touched Quirrell and his hand desinigrated, it was because Voldemort was in control of Quirrell's body.
