No they ceased to exist in the XIX century in Rhode island and Massachusetts.

Even if they exist how does it relate to Harry Potter?
<p>@Newt Strike they are mentioned in the Ilvermorny school song and were also haunting witches in England and North America. (That's probably why they are mentioned with "We stand as one united against the Puritans" in the school song)</p>

Thanks for pointing that out. Looks like I learnt a new thing today.
I would say that aspects of “Puritan ideology” May still exist with in small pockets of Christian communities... but on a whole they are not an organized group.

The Amish are pacifist. They may reject modern means, “luxuries” and wear hats and simple clothing, but over all they are non judgmental, and non-violent. The Puritans of the 17th and 18th centuries were violent in there judgement and condemnation of the “unholy”. Hence why Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry would have to stand against them and protect themselves.

<p>@Cat Nari what has that to do with this post about Puritans and not pure-bloods? Also: "blood-purity" doesn't work that way. Only those who have (supposedly) no Muggle relations are considered to be pure-blood (although everyone has Muggle relations if you go back far enough, they just like to think they don't), so the child of 2 half-bloods would have Muggle grandparents and would therefore not be "pure-blood". They would still be considered half-blood.</p>
