</p><p>Today's topic will be, whether a harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Werewolf is a harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Beast or a harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Being! Whilst humans are considered Beings (after all, they are the ones that created these two categories), we also have wolves, which are, quiet certainly Beasts.</p><p>
</p><p>Should Werewolves be treated as beings, with more rights when it comes to representation within the magical world, than say, harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Merpeople? Or should they rather be treated as beasts, mindless creatures without the capacity to linguistically interact with others? @Federico De Simone why did you mention all these myths about werewolves if they don't really relate to your argumentation? Also where did you find the information that the Lycacomia Curse (harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Lycacomia_Curse)was thought to be linked to Satan by Muggles (harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Muggle)? And do you refer with the methods of being freed from the disease to the stories or the Harry Potter books? If you refer to the latter (What I don't think you do): There is no known way to get rid of Lycantrophy (harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Lycanthropy), as far as I know, in Harry Potter.

Yes they relate to the topic, in some stories it was like a punishment, for crimes similar to the ones committed by Fenrir.
I said that you can't judge a werewolf for his appearance but for his/ her actions.
Dark Arts and Magic in general are linked with Satan, because only God can do it, of course only by Muggles.
Those methods were in some medieval and Renaissance' accounts on how to cure it, I am perfectly aware that in Hp you can't do it, but only Wolfsbane can help to retain human intelligence.

<p>Werewolves are beings, because they spend most of their time as humans. Only twelve nights a year are spent as a werewolf, with 353/354 (leap years). Besides, wolves have the instinct to hunt, kill, eat, and breed. Werewolves, however, have a more complicated mind as humans, and can decide whether or not to drink wolfsbane potions (harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Wolfsbane_Potion), or not. How savage they are, their loyalties, occupations, etc... is completely their choice. Greyback decided to be savage, but it was his choice, and also his choice to join Voldemort. Professor Lupin, however, was caring and kind, drinking the wolfsbane potion and surrendering his job for other's safety.</p>
harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Homorphus_charm will temporarily change werewolf into human according to harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Gilderoy_Lokhart ... eventhough he is a liar, he revealed that he has stolen the thought from old harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Armenian_warlock ... so it may be true too... but if you want to do it, it is not so easy... werewolf can't do it itself... any wizard should do it... it is very difficult yo be infront of a werewolf... however it is just temporary... and there is no enough sources for homorphus charm...

Cat Nari- The harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Ministry agrees that Werewolves in human form or under the influence of a Wolfsbane potion are Beings.
Here's a quote from the wiki page on the Beast classification:
"werewolves are only classified as Beasts in their transformed state. When there is no full moon they retain their Being status like any other human. However, they are still also classified as sentient by the Ministry of Magic."

<p>Well then, they are beings. Werewolves CHOOSE whether or not to be a being or a beast, by deciding to drink wolfsbane potion. If they are beasts or beings, that depends entirely on the werewolf.</p>
Regards Wolfsbane and the 'choice' to take it:
