<p>So, for everyone who has seen Crimes of Grindelwald -- Fandom wants to know what your reactions were to two potentially Canon-breaking additions in the film. What did you think about their inclusion, how did it make you feel, and has it diminished (or even heightened) your enjoyment of the Fantastic Beasts series so far?</p><p>
</p><p>I am of course talking about the inclusion of Minerva McGonagall in the series a lot earlier than we previously thought to be possible, and the potential revelation that Credence Barebone is "Aurelius Dumbledore" despite the timeline not seeming to work for him to be Albus Dumbledore's brother.</p><p>

<p>The McGonagall problem.</p><p>We know that Isobel married a muggle and named her daughter Minerva McGonagall after her own grandmother.</p><p>

</p><p>1880 Minerva Mcgonagall 1st is born.</p><p>1898 after graduating from Hogwarts, she married a wizard.</p><p>1899 had a daughter, and her husband died. She stuck to her maiden name.</p><p>c. 1907 started teaching at Hogwarts.</p><p>c.1911 chased a young Leta down the Hogwarts ground.</p><p>1917 became a grandmother. Her daughter had a daughter, named Isobel , with a wizard, Mr. Ross.</p><p>1927 threw shades at some interfering ministry officials.</p><p>1935 became great-grandmother as Minerva McGonagall 2nd, the one we know so well, is born.</p><p>

I became a great-grandmother two days back.</p><p>Albus Dumbledore : well, that's good news, but you being old? Nonsense! You don't look a day over 20.</p><p>Minerva : (smiling weakly) Isobel is naming her daughter after me. Everyone was against her marriage, but I secretly supported her.</p><p>Dumbledore : so, she'll be named Minerva McGonagall! I bet she'll be talented like you. and make even more delicious chocolate fudge than you do.</p><p>Minerva : (trying to smile) I think that muggle boy, Malcolm, will keep her happy.</p><p>Dumbledore : He is a McGonagall like you. Is he some distant relative of you?</p><p>Minerva : (finally crying) I don't know! I lost all contact with my former family. I had chosen the wizarding world for me! Sometimes I think that I should've....</p><p>Dumbledore : now! now! We can never reverse our choices, so why fuss over them!</p><p>Minerva : maybe you're right. But I'm thinking of Isobel! She chose the muggle world for her!</p><p>Dumbledore : The road to wizarding world is never closed for any witch or wizard.</p><p>Minerva : anyway! I handed my resignation letter to prof. Dippet yesterday. I need a free life and care for my health now. Don't worry! I'll keep sending you specially made chocolate fudge, and Honeydukes' best sherbet-lemon. </p><p>Dumbledore : oh! So you know I am fond if them. Muggles do know how to make candies! 😊</p><p>Minerva finally smiled!</p><p>

<p>The problem with this theory (or more like short fanfiction) is that Isobel's maiden name is Ross. That would make the maiden name of her mother also Ross which then would lead to a Minerva Ross teaching at Hogwarts and no Minerva McGonagall. @Daris hamed</p>

<p>@Daris hamed but the name "McGonagall" is from Isobel's husband who's a Muggle. So there is no relation to magic there (Isobel hid her magical heritage from him for most of their marriage) on his side. That means you would suggest that there is a family with the last name "McGonagall" who came to marry Minerva (Isobel's grandmother) and had children with her. One of these children married then a Ross and had children with her only for their daughter to find another family whose name is "McGonagall" to marry one of them so that her daughter would have the name Minerva McGonagall? That's a little bit far fetched, don't you think?</p>
<p>And remember that Minerva never had children because she preferred a life dedicated to teaching as she said in Cursed Child</p>

I think we should wait for Fantastic Beasts 3, and then we will see more about Credence and how is he relate with Dumbledore
<p>I think that “Aurelius” is a name that Grindewald gave Credence to make him think that he knows his identity. Grindewald probably did this to get him on his side as he is the one who told him what his “identity” is. Of course, in FB3 Credence is probably going to discover that the identity that Grindewald gave him is fake and he’s going to get devastated and return to the broken person he used to be. </p><p>
</p><p>I read a really good fan theory (I don’t remember who wrote it) but they said that the raven turned into a Phoenix until AFTER Grindewald touched it, and it turned into a Phoenix because he shared a blood pact with Dumbledore, which proves that Credence is not related to Dumbledore.</p><p>
</p><p>Also, not only did J.K. Rowling completely go against canon with the entire McGonagall thing, but near the end of the movie Jacob can SEE Hogwarts (note his amazed face). And in the books (or Pottermore) it said that Muggles cannot see Hogwarts, all they see are some castle ruins and a sign that says “Danger, Do Not Enter” (or something like that), so how come Jacob can see Hogwarts? </p><p>
