I don't know about the other points, but I've noticed that after Jason's death, fans are actually paying attention to all other characters, and I don't think they are mindlessly hating em now

I've seen at least seven "I'm glad he's dead" posts. I'm not sure most of them even remember that Frank, Hazel, and Grover exist. And of course the only times they mention Piper or Rachel is to hate of them, and they all think Calypso is just Leo's girlfriend and nothing else.
