<p>We've seen that Wizards do study Astronomy and have an entire section of the Department of Mysteries dedicated to its study. However, with the exception of a (most likely false) article in the Quibbler saying that a Wizard had flown to the Moon on a Cleansweep Broom and brought back Moon Frogs, there doesn't seem to be any indication - or at least not any that I've seen - of Wizards actually trying to journey out into space.</p><p>
</p><p>I did think about this while watching the 2010 TV version of the H.G.Wells story "The First Men in the Moon", which showed a scientist (Dr Arthur Cavor) and a businessman (Julius Bedford) in the 1800s successfully reach the moon in a sphere that was coated in Cavorite - a substance created by Cavor that repelled gravity.</p><p>Since Wizards have mastered control over gravity or at the very least have some control over it (as there is mention of Gravity-resistant trees in Nepal along with Anti Gravity Hats that are sold as a prank), I think it would be amusing to see Wizards potentially using the same method to get into space.</p><p>

The fact that the news was published in 'Quibbler', it's unlikely that the wizards would have travelled to the space (or they can in the first place).

<p>@Icecreamdif: Got another idea brewing in my head now, of a group of young Wizards watching the Muggles preparing to launch to the Moon in July 1969 and - acting out of greed for fame and jealously (racially motivated for one of them) - getting in a 'sphere' of their own before using magic to attach it to the shuttle on launch day; been dragged along to the moon with them. </p><p>
</p><p>You could maybe use this to make a parody of "First Men in the Moon" (all of H.G.Wells novels are now public domain); with the Wizards using the Doubling Charm to create spacesuits to use and helping save the human astronauts - as well as been saved by the human astronauts - when they encounter hostile life inside the moon.</p>

<p>I think it's possible that wizards might travel to space alongside Muggles, but I doubt they'd be able to do it on their own unless they put a lot of enchantments on like Baba Yaga's house or something and yeeted it into space.</p>
<p>@DelphianDragon: I thought they'd do it similar to how it's done in the video above - controlling gravity to levitate a "craft" they're in into outer space.</p><p>Also, I'm pretty sure the Wizards could get any Muggle materials they would need - after all, they did at one point in the past steal the steam train from Crewe that would become the Hogwarts Express. </p>
