Could you perhaps make a separate category for 'ships'? Here are my reasons:

1. Its not clear what category they fit in. The question in General arises with the non-canon element (could be confusing to newcomers), but its not exactly Fanfic either. Opinions, perhaps, is a logical forum for it to be in, but I'm not so sure about that either.

2. Such a vast number of the posts are about them that they perhaps deserve a category of their own.

3. They could seem unnecessary in the other categories to some, or might prevent users from seeing other, more varied topics that they may wish to explore.

Ships generally do go in the Opinions category, as it's always an opinion if you think two people would go well together in a relationship. There may be exceptions though (like fanart would go in Images/Links along with the other images, and theories/headcanons could go in Fan Theories).

I think it's fine as is- if users don't like seeing posts about ships, they can just scroll past, as this community is for everyone and most people don't mind them. It's also worth noting that to add a new category, we'd have to take out an existing one, since there's a limit of ten categories that we've already reached

Can we add in the New First Years Category Last Years or something of the sort? Like New First Years / Last years for anybody who is leaving this wiki cause I've seen allot of it and they'll put it in the Genral category, and it'll be considered as off-topic and it will lead to a lock.

I think we would be unlikely to implement this because leaving posts are always going to be off-topic, which in general is against the rules. Introductory posts usually have on-topic content like the user’s house/patronus/etc.- and even if they don’t, they can still lead to discussions about that, plus they’re useful to get new users acquainted with the rules anyway

Can we update community vote number 5. I feel that posts that contain spoilers should still be marked as spoilers even if it has been out for years because some people come on the wiki without seeing all of the movies or reading the books and it is not fair to the people who have not gotten through everything.

can there be a category for non canon Q&A because sometimes a question is asked and it's not a opinion and it's not canon leaving posts uncategorized.

1) While that's a very good suggestion, but after a certain point, content cannot be spoiler. If we keep that rule in mind, almost every other post and reply will have to be subjected to that. Which in turn will be a larger inconvenience for people who have watched the content. It affects the quality of interactions by users. While we appreciate new potterheads who are catching up with the entire series and the wizarding world, unfortunately enacting this change doesn't seem feasible.

2)That's a good suggestion. But there are certain things we have to keep in mind.

• The frequency of such posts

• We can only have 10 categories. Not more than that. So we will have to restructure all categories to accommodate this. Which won't be an issue, provided this is a pressing issue.
