I’m not really a fan of him tbh. While I do get that what happened between Snape and the Marauders isn’t exactly a fun time for him, I do think there’s a point he should’ve reached where he ended up letting that go and not holding a grudge against Harry over it. It’s the same with Lily tbh, it’s understandable that he’d want to mourn her but at the same time she shouldn’t be the only basis for Snape’s move to the good side. It has to come from Snape as well, and tbh the only thing that actually motivated him to switch sides was the fact that he’s killed Lily. There wasn’t really anything about him wanting to do better(if there was, he wouldn’t have been a bully and quite possibly would’ve been a lot better of a teacher towards Harry). It doesn’t help either that he held onto her death for so long that he’s still behaving bitterly because of it for more then a decade after her death.
