<p>I think it’s kind of interesting that he was in Gryffindor? Like he was the only character in the original books who was a bad guy who was in Gryffindor, and I feel like it could have played an interesting part in his character development had Rowling chosen to go that route </p>

<p>Many believe he shouldn’t have been a Griffindor because he was technically a traitor ... or that he was “bad”. One should remember that being sorted into any house does not set ones entire future and their choices into stone . It also doesn’t have to do with being good or bad ,but instead it is based on ones most prominent abilities . We can choose what we do with those abilities . Being a slytherin doesn’t make you evil ... remember how the sorting hat said that Harry could’ve “done well in Slytherin . He was only sorted into the house of Gryffindor because he wanted it so badly to be in that house due to his own bias towards Slytherin ...and therefore Harry himself might’ve asked this question! </p><p>

<p>He is actually in gryffindor for somewhat the same reason as Harry Potter. He asked to be in gryffindor. That was a key reason for him to be put into gryffindor. Now before wormtail betrayed everyone, he was a follower. He wanted to be like his freinds but was outshone, and that was the core of wormtail. </p><p>
</p><p>And when he was 11 when he was sorted into gryffindor, at that time he really wanted to be a hero so that autimaticly kind of put him in gryffindor. At that time, he had done nothing wrong and there wasn't a reason not to be in gryffindor. He had his brave moments to, maybe not as much as everyone else but he still spent his time when Lupin was a werewolf helping him. he also decided to become a spy, a job that put him in danger. This may have been wrong, but Pettigrew could have just stayed out of the war if he were a true coward. He may have been on the wrong side, but he still fought.</p><p>
</p><p>So could we just say that Wormtail/ Pettigrew (whatever you want to call him) was put in gryffindor for all the right reasons but made all the wrong choices (idk) </p>
