I mean,
Voldemort. No way is umbridge (who's your average annoying teacher at high school) worse than voldemort.
First, here are ways that Voldemort and umbridge are similar:
- they both discriminate against halfbreeds like werewolves, giants and centaurs.
- the both hate muggles and muggleborns.
- they both had a relatively nasty childhood (but Voldemort's was a bit worse I think) which is why they are both so bitter.
Now, here are the ways that Voldemort and umbridge are different:
- UMBRIDGE hands out DETENTIONS for no reason.
- On the other hand, VOLDEMORT KILLS innocent muggles for no reason.
How is being an annoying teacher who hands out detentions worse than a murderer?
- UMBRIDGE comes up with some irritating rules which inconveniences the life of teenagers at hogwarts.
- VOLEMORT is the founder of a terrorist group that haunted the wizarding world for decades.
- UMBRIDGE uses the illegal blood quill during her detentions, and enjoys it when the students suffer.
- VOLDEMORT uses the illegal CRUCIATUS curse and DARK MAGIC on other people, for pure enjoyment.
They both use torture for pure enjoyment, but can the cruciatus compare to a blood quill? I don't think so. She did threaten to cruciatus harry once, but she never actually did.
Umbridge is evil but not as bad as Voldemort. I am not saying that torturing students is appropriate, just that killing people is a lot worse.
Horcruxes are dark magic, and anyone able to murder people out of cold blood and do the rituals needed to create horcruxes are very dark wizards. And killing a unicorn and drinking it's blood makes you cursed for the rest of your life.
And as far as I'm aware, Umbridge never made horcruxes or killed unicorns so...
But Voldemort murdered people in cold blood while creating horcruxes.
He killed his father when he was a teenager
He framed Hagrid and got him expelled.
He possessed Ginny, nearly killing her.
He killed James and Lily, leaving Harry an orphan.
He killed unicorns, the purest animals alive (Quirrell did it but he was possessed by voldemort).
He made Pettigrew kill Cedric.
He ordered nagini to kill Snape.
He tortured muggleborns with the cruciatus for the fun of it.
Come on, Umbridge can produce a patronus which proves she isn't entirely dark.
I get it, people hate her because of the memes saying that umbridge is worse. But there are some people who genuinely and wholeheartedly believe that umbridge is a thousand times worse than voldemort (I'm not exaggerating, I've seen comments of people saying this).
And this concerns me, so I decided to enlighten you all.
So yeah, I believe Voldemort is worse than Umbridge.
