Here's the 2nd Part of a series of posts, I will be posting about upcoming FB movies.
Key Point : Credence Barebone aka Aurelius Dumbledore has the ability to age both forwards and backwards.
Doesn't make sense, right? But I guess, with the timeline mixed up so much in the FB movies, it doesn't sound weird.
Let's start pondering over some points which made me feel that Credence/Aurelius is just more than an obscurial.
First, let us take his name, "Aurelius".
I noted here, that Aurelia which sounds very close to "Aurelius" is a common species of Jelly Fish.
Have a read to the Wikipedia page of Aurelia aurita:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurelia_aurita
Now, it's surprising to know that there is a species of Jelly Fish which can age both forwards and backwards.
Read this article:
A small extract from the article above:
"...The king of them all in terms of biological lifespan is the Turritopsis Nutricula which can potentially live forever. They can grow old like every other living thing, but then have the unique ability to reverse this process and grow young again.."
So, here is the answer, Aurelius is the human counterpart of these Jelly Fishes. Perhaps, Rowling would come up with a fancy name for such wizards like we have for Metamorpmagus.
Supporting further, Rowling has defined an obscurial as a "creature".(I made a mistake here, she said Obscurus is not a creature)
Grindelwald has called Credence as an entity indicating he is aware of his ability and knows he is more than an "obscurial".
And covering it all, it explains why Credence is the only recorded obscurial to have survived till adulthood. Because his body tend to grow younger with age making him always not more than ten years old "internally".
