I know a lot of HP fans are very fond of playing Hogwarts Mystery on their smartphones. However, I am dumbfounded as to why people actually enjoy playing this game, as I believe this game to be the worst game ever created in the HP franchise. In fact, I believe it is truly dreadful; its game-play is extremely simplistic and dull, it is devoid of any real creativity, it is infantile and has a very poorly conceived narrative, it provides no chance for exploration, and its sole purpose seems to be purely to milk young fans out of huge amounts of money by demanding constant micro-transactions in order to keep playing the game. I believe the game exploits young HP fans for profit, for an utterly pointless and terrible game. In comparison, Wizards Unite (which I do play), has genuinely interesting game-play, allows for high levels of exploring and interaction, can be played with others, and does not require spending money to be played continuously. I truly believe Hogwarts Mystery is an absurd rip-off and not worth a person's time or money. Does anyone else agree with me?

There seems to be a pretty big mix of people who do or don't like the game. I don't use a smartphone and haven't played it myself so I can't comment personally, but from what I've heard Seamus Gorman say, he wasn't impressed by it:
