You can't block unforgivable curses or any other really powerful curses/hexes with the Shield Charm.
@Harrypotterexpert101 You’re right on that count, but I’m pretty sure Protego Maxima can block Crucio.
Wait, no. That’s Protego Horriblis.
Crucio and Imperio can be blocked in my knowledge.
Avada Kedavra cannot be blocked by spells, and can only be blocked by something physical.
I said with the Shield Charm, which is just "Protego". There are more powerful versions that are more effective, but I was referring to this charm specifically.
Non of the unforgivables can be blocked by protego.
Protego blocks most charms but isn't all that useful against powerful curses.
