Well it divided the school and caused a lot of competition between the houses, but it also allowed for the Quidditch inter-house cup to happen and inspired people to abide by the rules so they could gain house points

Tbh about 80% of the problems at Hogwarts were caused by Houses so yeah. Better remove them for the greater good.

I think things should have been a bit less divided. I mean the quidditch teams and stuff makes sense, but having them so secluded into their houses (having classes as a house and such) isn't good. Balance is key

I don't think it is bad. Having children learn at an earlier age that the world is split up into different groups is a bad thing.

^yea but the world needs those different types of people to work together. Normally they split like personalities apart for more diversity. At least that's how business school works.

I think the good in the houses concept is the similaritude between the students in the same house. it's pretty cool to be with people who are like you. and of course the students had to be separate and i think the houses are funniest than just be separate about the age. and the competition between the houses is funny, in theory .

but the problem is that the kids are too young to understand that the competition is cool but they haven't to take it too seriously. and it can became dangerous.

so there is bad and there is good with the houses. I think it's really playful, which is great in a school. so I'm for this concept if the teachers take care about the behaviour of their students.
