Eh, she's actually very Gryffindor ngl, so basically her whole character would have to get changed for her to be in Slytherin, so basically, the whole story would need to have been altered.

If Ginny was in Slytherin, Harry's life would go kaplat and spin around.

I think having a Weasley be a Slytherin in general would be very interisting, also one that's younger than Ron (just so we can see the contrast and reaction etc.), however I think for this to work, we would need an OC. Ginny just isn't a Slytherin. Sorry, she might be ambitious (to a degree) but not enough, and she's also not sly or has the certain je ne sais qois to be a Slytherin

If you think we need more heroic characters from Slytherin(if that's what you mean), then it'd be better to have someone other than Ginny, perhaps another character who's not canon.

@Newt Strike Yeah, I heard that too. But I think it was a cousin of the Weasleys and she was supposed to be somewhat evil, so I'm glad JKR didn't go through with it

Yup basically her role and actions were given to Rita Skeeter instead.
