Rose was in the Library, reading. Well, at least trying to read. Her thoughts kept drifting off.
-The Shield Charm... -she mumbled, her eyes scanning the paragraphs. -Protego...
Someone entered the Library, but Rose didn't notice. She took another textbook, and it turned out to be Potions.
-Everlasting Elixirs... -she read in a low voice, then nodded. -I know this.
-And I don't doubt it. -someone answered, making Rose look up.
-Scorpius. -she muttered, smiling slightly. -Hi.
-Hi. -Scorpius smiled back. -Don't stress too much. You already know everything.
-I hope so. -Rose shrugged, sighing. Scorpius stared at her for a bit too long before looking away.
-Um... I... -he said.
Rose looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
-I wanted to ask you something about Charms, but I completely forgot what my question was. -he said with a small smile. Rose laughed with him, trying to ignore the small blush on her cheeks.
-Well, I'm sure you knew the answer yourself. -she offered. Scorpius nodded.
-Yeah. Probably. -he agreed. Then a look of determination crossed his face. -Listen, Rose...
-Yes?-she asked in anticipation. Scorpius looked at her, then looked away again, still hesitating.
-I just... -Scorpius tried again. Rose waited and waited. Then she stared at the ground, a bit disappointed. What was she expecting?
-I need to go, Anne is waiting for me. -she made up an excuse. -I'll see you later-
-Will you go out with me?-Scorpius blurted out. Rose froze in her tracks. She slowly directed her eyes at Scorpius, to find him gazing at her.
-Like... Like a... -she stuttered. Scorpius nodded.
-Yeah, like a date. -Scorpius confirmed. Where did Rose's heartbeat go? She honestly had no idea, and the only thing she could focus on was Scorpius.
-It's okay if you don't want to, I just- Scorpius continued, but she interrupted him.
-Yes. -she answered. Scorpius widened his eyes.
-Yes?-he asked, reassuring himself. Rose nodded, a smile appearing on her face.
-Yes, Scorpius, I will go out with you. -she repeated. Scorpius grinned.
-That's great. That's really... That's really awesome. -he said.
-I can't wait. -Rose told him truthfully.
-Same here. -Scorpius said, his grin never disappearing.
