Chapter 1: The plan to succeed in failing
"James behind!" yelled the red-headed girl as she was hitting all the bludgers with a bat as the spectacled boy who was barely managing to get all of them barely ducked out of the way of the maniacal ball. "This is why I do better as a chaser," he yelled slightly breathless. "We can discuss this later." the girl said while resisting the urge to hit the boy with the bat.
On the other side of the tent, the grey-eyed boy was following the light brown-haired boy while shooting out spells with their wands as their short companion watched the chaos go down.
"Sirius hurry up!" yelled the spectacled boy breaking the serene silence of the corridors in the vast and ever-changing magical castle. "Oh shut it Prongs," the grey-eyed boy running behind him responded in a slightly irritated tone. "We wouldn't be in such a mess if you hadn't rehearsed how to ask Evans out the whole of last night!" while taking quick and sharp inhales and speeding up his pace. "How's this my fault?! You should have slept off," he said while looking back the Sirius who was catching up. "Honesty, would you have let me?" he said as he overtook James. "Fair point," James said as he sped up. As the seconds ticked, and the boys ran, a short boy, who's ideal mind was finally at work was scribbling down a plan in the classroom James and Sirius we're due at. After a few seconds, the boys ran into class and took their seats just as the Professor entered.
"Mr Lupin and Ms Evans, you may proceed and begin your presentation." the professor said after exchanging greetings with the class. A pair of students with multiple materials walked up to the front of the class and started their presentation. Then the boy who had scribbled out the plan passed it to down to James. "Merlin Peter, that's brilliant!" he exclaimed under his breath and passed it down to Sirius who went as red as a tomato after reading it but eventually nodded in agreement as Peter sighed with relief.
After the pair ended their presentation, the next ones called up and this cycle was repeated till the end of class. After the class was dismissed, Sirius who had the note approached Remus, terribly nervous, but not losing his initial charm that Remus had fallen for almost instantly. Remus looked at him smiled sweetly as Sirius's stomach did backflips as he was amazed by Remus's beauty. Anyone there could sense the connection between these two, the love passed in between glances could make even the coldest most frozen hearts melt. "I'd like to ask you something." blurted out Sirius, "Oh absolutely anything," Remus responded with that same smile, that made Sirius fall for the brown-haired werewolf even harder. Just as Sirius opened his mouth to speak the Professor called Remus, and although Remus was deeply annoyed for some reason he didn't know, he nodded and picked up his books and looked at the boy who had stolen his heart one last time, "I'll talk to you a bit later." and waited for a response before walking away and Sirius nodded and told him to go ahead. He walked away from him thinking, how could he have been annoyed by a Professor calling him, and walked to the Professor to who had called upon Remus. Sirius unknowingly left the note on the table and walked off. After his conversations with the Professor, he walked back to his table since he saw the note and assumed Sirius left it for him. He read through it turning red as soon as his name was mentioned. He then proceeded to walk out of the class and find Lily, losing his usual and calm demeanour. While pacing through the crowded halls, he found her talking to some other girls and quickly pulled her aside without a word of warning. She was concerned and asked him what was wrong, to which he just passed her the note. She read it and scoffed, and told Remus she was way out of James's league but was secretly overjoyed inside. She had never excepted to find herself falling for him, but alas, becoming a head girl may change you and your attitude towards people. She looked and Remus and reassuring squeezed his hand, and said "Trust me, we'll get through it and, it's a double date, so you'll have me there the whole time." He nodded and smiled as they walked off together breaking into a conversation of how it may turn out.
