Greetings Potterheads.

This is a community discussion regarding ships.

Ships are short for romantic relationships, as in where 2 humans are romantically attracted to each other.

Ships are generally of 2 main types, Canon and fanon. While Canon ships are something that is legitimate and an integral part of the universe, fanon ships are the ones that keep a huge part of the community going.

Very recently a subtype of Fanon ships have emerged and they are pedophilic ships. Such ships contain a minor as in a character below the age of 18 and a major as in a character equal to or above the age of 18.

Such ships are in all essence disturbing and not very law or moral abiding. Based on an informal discussion between the MoM staff, we have decided to essentially ban such ships but given that this would mean deleting certain types of posts that are technically on topic, we would like to hear the views of the users on this matter.

If there are any other ships that you consider should be discussed then please do discuss them as well!

This discussion post will remain open for 1 week. At the end of the week, based on discussions it will be decided if the topic needs to be voted on or can discussion suffice enough to make a decision. Please share your thoughts below. Thanks!

I agree, the ships seem to make everyone (including me) uncomfortable and I just don't see the point. They're obviously shipped as a joke but it really isn't funny whatsoever

I agree with this proposal 100%. When I joined this Fandom, I was looking for a community who shared my love for HP and would engage in interesting discussions with me. These ships are disturbing and posts on them do affect the environment of the Fandom.

I'm just actually saying that some shipping is okay, but some ships is ridiculous, and cannot be actually created

I completely agree with this proposal and what's already been stated above. These ships have only been causing discomfort and negative reactions, which isn't what we want for this community- the HPW should be a safe place where users can have fun talking with others about their fandom, not a place to talk about illegal relationships, especially as many of the users here are younger. I don't see any point in letting these continue, and I think it would be a good decision to disallow them.

I agree with everyone against the ships, they make me uncomfortable and are literally ILLEGAL.

Based on the discussion above, the community decides to ban all paedophile ships. Paedophile ships can be defined as ships that contain a minor (below 18) and a major (18 or above).

All posts containing such ships will either be locked, if it's a first offence and, on further offences will be deleted and a standard procedure to deal with such post(s) and/or user(s) posting such posts will be followed.

RESULT: Paedophile ships are banned on this Wiki.
