“I haven’t been here is years.” Said Mum, smiling looking around. “Now where to next…” she had a look of concentration on her face, apparently trying to remember where she had gone when she was young. “Oh!” Mum said suddenly, giving me and Patsy a start. “Ollivanders! How could I forget? You must have a wand!
We walked past quite a few shops and stopped in front of a black one with the words Ollivanders written also in golden, cursive letters across the arch of the doorway.
“Patsy wants to go to Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, are you okay going in there by yourself?” Mum asked, her hand on Patsy’s shoulder.
“Sure.” I said uncertainly, but I wanted Patsy and Mum to have a good time, but I wasn’t sure how I felt about being left alone. But I’m eleven now, I can handle it.
“Alright then!” Mum said smiling, “We’ll meet up back at the parlour when you’re done.” She pointed east down the long alley to a building where there was a huge ice cream cone, and a set of table and chairs on the roof.
“Oh! And take these!” She handed me a couple of the golden coins she had handed to Madam Malkins, smiled and strode off towards the ice cream parlour. After taking a deep breath, I walked inside the creaking door of the shop.
