Idk where the harry bit came from but I liked that his middle name was james, bc it was named after his father and basically the only bit of him left

I also like it because James’s parents names were Fleamont and Euphemia. I mean, those are names you don’t hear everyday so I love the fact that they would name their kid James, and then James and Lily have their kids just as basic of a name

I like the name though, it’s not to basic really as atleast the middle name has meaning to it

I like to think of it as an attempt to keep them as close to reality as a fictional story with wizards, witches and magic could be. I think it was JKR's intention that by keeping a common name, it might highlight that the characters exist just like we do. And in a way, maybe to show that magic is all around us, sometimes in the most common and unexpected ways. All we have to do is have the belief to see it.
