i honestly think it's the funniest thing that draco's son canonically has a crush on ron's daughter
like wow that came full-circle
anyway, thoughts on the Cursed Child?

Yeah, it does feel like a fanfic. JKR wasn't the only one who wrote it though, there was also Jack Thorne and John Tiffany who wrote it. It feels like a fanfic because it's not a book, it's a script and lots of people forget that and act like it's a book while it's just a script, they just published it for money and raised the expectation way too high for fans, so that's probably why people hate it. I bet the play is good though

I was actually expecting something like that after Ron warned Rose about Scorpius in DH. It seemed too perfect not to do it. Just imagine if they actually started dating: the awkwardness at family events between Ron and Draco and even more so between Arthur and Lucius would just be brilliant.
Still, I would have gladly sacrificed the canonicity of the crush for a better version of CC. I mean, even some of the canonical parts were changed, which just underscores how forced the entire script was. They couldn't even fully make it work within canon.
^ yeah, i do like scorose a lot lol it's just ironic
I just reread the Epilogue and the first two Scenes of CC side by side. They appear to be similar, but fundamentally contradict each other, seemingly to set up the difficulties between Harry and Albus. If CC needs to contradict canon to set up its story, then I'm left to wonder how canon CC can actually be.
The only notable thing in CC was Scorbus. Nothing else.
Yeah, um, everything Lector said
I’m halfway through it and so far I think it’s decent. My main problem I think is Harry’s relationship with Albus. Do people who had no or bad parent/parent figures really have that much problem with parenting themselves?
^ actually yeah, a lot of the time. people who grew up without that rock solid example of a good parent have a harder time figuring out how to do it themselves since no one ever showed him. though i think harry would have a bit easier of a time since he had several parental figures throughout the show and ginny definitely had fantastic parents.
I just have a hard time believing Harry could be such a jerk!
^ true. there's no explanation for that lol
What do you think?
