We're in a global pandemic where everyone has bene discouraged from socialization for 2 years... I'd be more surprised if someone wasn't lonely

^^ ...what?? the point of a debate is to explain your opinion, not change someone else's. people are allowed to have different opinions and they don't necessarily need to be changed just because someone else disagrees with them.

Opinions almost always change in a successful debate.
