Riddle:
I can bleed, but I don't drain of life
I can hurt you, but it's not me you're mad at
I can be in the middle while on the side
I am forgotten until you are found
What am I?
Hint: this is a solid and was in the main series (first mentioned in SS, but mentioned in more than one book), as well as other things like video games. It's likely this has a known creator, but it was never confirmed. Harry's interacted with this. It reflected something. One could argue that this gives something meant to be consumed. It's not a creature nor is it alive. It contains multiple of the same thing.
Going by CHT's definition, this doesn't have blood.
For line two, in most cases, this doesn't physically hurt anyone, though physical hurt can be a side effect.
In line three, one of the places mentioned is metaphorical while the other is literal. 'Middle' here is referring to the answer being caught in the middle of something. The 'middle' is a reference to something in the second half of the main series while 'side' is a reference to something throughout the main series.
In line four, the 'you are found' can be good or bad. If you add another word near the end of the line, it makes a whole lot more sense. It's forgotten by J.K. Rowling until she needs it for something. At some point, she adds it in kinda randomly and then repeats something really similar later, which made me think she forgot about it/didn't know what to do with it. 'You' isn't referring to a specific person, it can be anyone from a certain group. The second line can be a result of the finding.
