I’m rewatching my favorite Harry Potter movie (which is also my favorite book) the Goblet of Fire and I love the Veela species and I wanna know why the were omitted. Also don’t know where this goes but I think Canon Q&A

How did the fourth movie cross the line?
I just didn't like it. It was kind of annoying how they ditched the Quidditch match, considering it did create a short drama later on
I think their were more important things that they cut than the Quidditch match. The Quidditch didn't really matter to the plot. I think its a bigger problem that they cut out Winky, and Barty Jr's entire backstory.
Yes, they cut out a lot of very great parts.
The Quidditch match was fairly important to that but alright, makes sense
Barty Jr had a complicated backstory, I like that in a character
How was the Quidditch match important? The only thing it really effected was the Fred/George/Ludo subplot, and that was really just a red herring.
Leprechaun gold, with Harry 'n' Ron, that upset me that it wasn't there, and then there was the whole Dark Mark thing which I don't remember being in the fourth movie.
The leprechaun gold was a good scene in the book, but it wasn't vital to the plot. The dark mark thing was in the movie, but it didn't really make any sense since they changed Barty's backstory. Barty was already free and working with Voldemort during the Riddle House scene, but then he randomly decided to head to the World Cup and cast the dark mark for no particular reason.
You don't understand then.
What do you think?
