Honestly, he’s not really good or bad, like he’s morally grey. I’d lean more to saying a bad person with some good intentions.

He was a bad guy until he was personally affected, then he switched sides and tried to make amends. Ultimately, he died a good guy.

This is such a big discussion but in my opinion Snape as a person is a bad guy, look at the way he behaves (not necessarily towards Harry but also towards Hermione and Neville...) and his obsession with Lily in my opinion is very exaggerated, it is true that he is on the "good" side but as a person I personally would not want him close to me It's not that I'm not aware of the good things about him, but the bad things (the obsession with Lily, the attraction to Voldemort and especially to Opal, the disgusting behavior to the students, etc., etc.) far outnumber the (really) good things (he is undoubtedly one of the bravest of the series).

He's neutral. That's it. There's not really a lean here, although most (most. not all) neutral characters tend to lean good, which I guess you could say he does, but idk. Honestly the debate is a little exhausting. It's kinda weird that I take this viewpoint when he's probably my favorite character, but I'd say it's better than blindly defending him like some people do.
