Sorry for the spelling mistake - by the time I noticed it was too late.
Was supposed to say "treated".
Really does depend doesn’t it? Personally I’d imagine if this hypothetical character looked like Lily but still had the Potter name that his hate for James and love for Lily would equal out to the point where Snape would treat her like any other student. Which, frankly, is still pretty bad but nowhere near as bad as how Harry was treated.
I think Snape loved Lily as a person, not cause how she looked, soo he would probably treat the child same as Harry
This is a good question. I'm not really sure. I think Snape's dislike of Harry was a combination of him looking so much like James, as well as a reminder if Lily ending up with James and not him. A daughter would still represent Lily being with James, and there would likely still be a bitterness there for Snape, but I could see this hypothetical daughter not receiving quite the level of hatred Harry got. I even feel there's a possibility that a resemblance to Lily could very well be enough for Snape to treat her fairly well. I'm going to guess however, it would be a little in between - not treated with favoritism, but also not in the way Harry was treated (for the poll, I chose the "favoritism" option, as I think that, of the two options, Snape's treatment of her would be closer to that than to the way Harry was treated)
@Hazard18 I find that thinking to be flawed because personally, I love my grandma. If she were dead and I saw another person that looked like her, it would remind me of all of the times I spent with her and how much I loved her. This does not mean that I loved her for her looks.
I think Snape would definitely be conflicted.
Snape was obsessed with Lily but I don't think it was because of her looks, just her personality. If she acted like Harry (which is likely because of all the trauma Harry had), Snape would probably treat her worse than Harry imo
Hard to say. I think he would either completely ignore her, treat her like Harry or get creepy. Really depends. I mean in the first book, Harry came to Hogwarts being a really good kid (however he managed that mentally is the biggest plothole of the entire series). He was kind and tried hard to do his work. Snape judged him on his looks and last name so if that hypothetical daughter looked like Lily, I think he couldn't just hate her like he hated Harry and completely mentally seperate her from her mother.
What do you think?
