Yeah, I didn't the Rita thing at first either, but when I reread the series when I was older and had been exposed to some of these stereotypes as well as Rowling's own prejudice, it kind of whacked me over the head.

I definitely don't see the kid thing as homophobic more so accidental. But I see with his the world always views this people as bad and predators when most are actually good

The whole Rita Skeeter thing is blown out of proportion especially since the reason she “transitions” into a bug is to spy on people and eavesdrop. it has absolutely nothing to do with being trans and none of the arguments even make sense. You’re just taking minor details and completely blowing it out of proportion.

The only East Asian character in the entire original series

1.1% of the UK is East Asian, but less than 0.001% of Rowling’s UK is Asian

Her name is a nonsensical mashup of a Korean surname and a Chinese surname, so it’s stereotypical and supported to ‘sound Asian’, even though it makes no sense in any East Asian language.

She, the only East Asian character in the book, is sorted into Ravenclaw, the house known for smarts. This perpetuates the stereotype that Asians are smart.

I see the 'smart' Asian stereotype here.

But I don't see what is wrong with the name 'Cho Chang' tho

I literally know someone called "張秋" ( Direct translation: Cho Chang )

And no, names in East Asian don't HAVE to make sense, per se. Chang is a very common Chinese surname, and Cho isn't too bad either. A pretty word that means autumn.

So I that exactly see the problem here with the name, if anyone can tell me ^^
