Why didn't Dumbledore think up a plan to use Veritaserum to prove Sirius's innocence? Like make him drink it and tell everyone that Wormtail escaped, or use it on Death Eaters in Azkaban to prove that Wormtail worked for Voldemort?
Also why didn't they use Veritaserum to prove that Lucius, Macnair, Avery, Nott, Crabbe, Goyle, Selwyn, Greyback, Yaxley and the Carrows willingly served Voldemort during the First Wizarding War??? That would definitely make them end up in Azkaban.
Could Dumbledore have used his wand to pull out the memory of Voldemort getting revived from Harry's head and prove to the entire world that Voldemort has returned?
Since Harry thought Severus was supporting Draco's evil plan in book 6, why not ask Severus to drink Veritaserum and tell his loyalty to Harry so that Harry won't suspect him?

Dumbledore believed Sirius betrayed potter's and all evidence was against him. Dumbledore himself testified to ministry, that Sirius was the secret keeper, not knowing they switched to Peter behind his back.

Dumbledore could've went to the tower to wait for Buckbeak, Harry, Hermione and Sirius, then together they'll prove Sirius's innocence

3. Could Harry possibly fake a memory? They can take it out in front of Fudge.

4. I mean, Dumbledore can call Severus to his office, Severus drinks that and tells Harry his loyalty

3. Doesn't matter what they show fudge, he was still gonna lie to himself. Deep down he knew voldy was back, but decided to be dumb and scared.

4. They couldn't tell anyone Severus' loyalty. It would be a serious risk being found out by Voldemort. Only people who knew were Severus and Albus. That was the safest and best choice. Besides, memories can be tampered with, so not 100% sure Harry would believe anyway

1: Dumbledore was a powerful wizard, he could have easily replicated vertisarum. And no one would have believed him.

2. They were cowards, and the ministry had a lot going on, though they completely deserved jail time. The ministry supported them for funds.

Because the right to not self-incriminate has existed since the early 16th century in especially England. While I am aware that the magic judicial system is in no way the same as the muggle system, I would assume this fundamental human right is honoured even in the magic judicial system. This would then also make confessions made under influence of a truth serum of sorts inadmissible as it is a violation of bodily integrity and dignity. A third relevant point is that memories are very subjective and have to be seen in the cultural and developmental reality of the “owner” of the memory. It would thus be very challenging to use such a confession in any court of law.

Im sorry for the long answer, I have two law degrees where for one I wrote my thesis on fundemental human rights and how they provide legal standing :)

Because J. K. Rowling isn't that good of a writer and the Harry Potter series was her first published work.
