Despite its flaws, I actually prefer Cursed Child

I don't think I've watched/read fantastic beast so really, I can't say.

cursed child was a good read for me until roughly the second part, delphi has the weirdest moral compass, its played out like she's evil by blood and the fact it makes voldemort x bellatrix Canon is uhhh.. other than that it's great

I didn't like the way the cursed child was written. I don't like that its a play. I don't think I ended up reading the whole book because I got fed up with the fact that it was a script, but I'm eventually gonna read the whole thing and decide if I like the story. Nothing will ever change my hatred for the fact that its a play, though. If I like the story then I'll wish it was written like a normal novel.
