Why did we let this escalate so far?
@MischiefMxnaged713 as far as I can tell, you were the one that initiated the uncivil discussion by immediately suggesting that anyone who had a different opinion than you was completely insane. You may strongly believe in one side of the debate, but even if your answer is the most popular one, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's the only correct one. This is a debate about fictional characters, after all. Who knows what could happen?
What you should not do is continue to insult people and accuse them of trolling instead of trying to have a civilized discussion. Trying to act like you're far better than the other person really doesn't help get your point across.
@Clivehandfor similarly, please refrain from insulting other users and showing disrespect. Doesn't matter if the other person accuses you first- it should still never be done.
You both kept talking about how the other person was a waste of your time, so why didn't you just drop the conversation instead of pushing it further? There was no reason to continue. And if you want a post locked, then... don't try to get it locked by going OT and knowingly breaking the rules further, because that goes more against you than it does the post. Just ping a mod for it to be locked, and we'll take a look.
