Ron was a jerk in Goblet of Fire

I like goblet of fire but what the hell was Ron's problem in this book? He's jealous of Harry getting into the tournament He's a jerk to Hermione just because she went with Krum and last but not least, yelling at Harry for acting the hero, then being absolute hypocrite about it! just how many things had to get to him? his and Harry's conflict was the only problem in that book

He was going through a bit of a phase, as many people do at 14. He didn’t know how to properly handle his feelings for Hermione or his jealousy towards Harry and Krum. Obviously he got over it.

He was being a jerk, no doubt, but he got over it. And that Harry thing was not necessarily understandable, but I-don't-know-the-words-to-express-it. But that's growing up, and Harry has the same problem :')

Honestly, Ron was a bit of a jerk. I guess that’s just part of growing up. You can’t help growing up, its just going to happen.

He was overlooked, living in Harry's shadow even in his own house, and his reward for standing by Harry from day one was - from his perspective - for Harry to sneak his name into the goblet without letting him in on it.

And he was fourteen.
