For everyone saying it's disrespect... Well guys, I'm catholic and I don't find it disrespectful.
Then he was probably not a wizard, the reasons have been stated above.
However, I'd like to point out that other societies had other kinds of magic, for instance, it is mentioned that Arabic people had flying curpets so we don't know what the magicians in Jerusalem were able to do.
Whatever d magicians of Jerusalem were able to do, it's still disrespectful to imply that jesus was a magician. Knowing fully well how the bible views magic
“You shall not permit a sorceress to live.
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”
“If a person turns to mediums and necromancers, whoring after them, I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.
Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
And I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no more tellers of fortunes;
ETC ETC ETC
Do you understand why calling Jesus a wizard could be considered disrespectful now?
For everyone saying it's disrespect... Well guys, I'm catholic and I don't find it disrespectful.
You, personally, might not find it disrespectful but for other people might find it disrespectful e.g., Muslims.
People used to believe that magic was evil and by associating a religious figure with magic is seen as disrespectful.
Even then, let's not bring religious figures into the HPW, it might cause conflict.
Some of the wizards are Christians and I think they'd realise that if it were true
Which wizard is christian?
Also, a wizard being christian is highly different from calling Christ a wizard.
Even the devil knows the bible
I'm not saying wizard that may be christian are evil (although I don't know any that are christian) but even the bible says "any tongue can proclaim that Jesus is lord"
But now I'm curious, what wizards were christians
Harry literally has a godfather and is a godfather.
What does having a godfather and being a godfather have to do with religion?
If you're referring to the "god" in the word
Lots of ancient believe had gods and goddesses
The god in godfather has nothing to do with religion
Maybe godfather has religion origins? Idk
But anyway, I know not only christians use it
Godparents is a Christian thing.
There are atheist who have godfathers, and the godfathers are atheist too
Here, I copied and pasted this info cause I'm not sure how else to explain it to you
The term "godfather" typically has different meanings depending on the context. In religious contexts, a godfather is commonly understood as someone who sponsors and supports a person during a Christian baptism or confirmation ceremony. In this context, the godfather often takes on a role of spiritual guidance and responsibility for the individual's religious upbringing.
However, since atheists do not believe in the existence of gods or participate in religious ceremonies, the concept of having a godfather in the religious sense doesn't apply to them. Atheists do not typically have godfathers in the context of religious ceremonies or spiritual guidance.
In some non-religious or secular contexts, the term "godfather" might be used metaphorically to refer to a person who plays a significant and supportive role in someone's life, offering mentorship, protection, or guidance. But this usage is unrelated to the religious concept of a godfather and is not specific to atheists; it applies to individuals from various belief systems or those with no religious affiliations.
