*this school is made up of my personal headcannons of what a Korean magic school would look like and mostly elements generated by Chat-GPT.
Name: "Dragon Ridge School of Magic"
Location: Dragon Ridge School of Magic is situated on a secluded mountain range, hidden from the non-magical world. The school can only be reached by a hidden magical path accessible to witches and wizards.
Houses and Traits:
House Gwisin: Students in Gwisin House are known for their adaptability and resourcefulness. They have a strong connection to traditional Korean magic and folklore and are often skilled in illusion and transformation magic. The house emblem is a gwisin (a ghostly spirit), and their colors are midnight black and ethereal white. (Closest Hogwarts equivalent I can think of is Slytherin)
House Haetae: Haetae House values courage and protection. Students here are known for their bravery and sense of justice, often standing up for those in need. The house emblem is a haetae (a mythical guardian lion), and their colors are fiery red and royal blue. (Closest Hogwarts equivalent I can think of is Gryffindor)
House Chuseok: Chuseok House is for students with a deep connection to the natural world and an affinity for herbology and plant magic. They are known for their green thumbs and their dedication to preserving the environment. The house emblem is a Chuseok table laden with traditional Korean harvest foods, and their colors are earthy greens and golden yellows. (Closest Hogwarts equivalent I can think of is Hufflepuff)
House Haneul: Students in Haneul House are known for their intellectual prowess and love of ancient magical texts. They excel in subjects like runic magic and spell research. The house emblem is a soaring phoenix, and their colors are deep indigo and brilliant gold. (Closest Hogwarts equivalent I can think of is Ravenclaw)
Curriculum
The school's curriculum is enriched by the influence of traditional Korean magical practices and the study of East Asian magical creatures. Dragon Ridge School of Magic aims to preserve and celebrate the magical heritage of Korea while providing a well-rounded education for young witches and wizards.
The courses offered are generally the same as other European magic schools such as Hogwarts however what is taught in each course is more oriented towards East Asian magical practices. An additional elective you won’t find in other schools is a course on Shamanism, offered to 6th years and above. Extracurricular courses will include (Traditional Korean) Art, Caligraphy, Samulnori (A traditional Korean music form), Taekwondo (A Korean Martial Art), (Korean) Cooking, (Traditional Korean) Dance, and Swordsmanship.
The school also has an intramural quidditch program with a team in each house that competes against each other. There are house representatives which are a 7th year boy and 7th year girl in each house which are similar to prefects at Hogwarts. There is also a student president which is a 7th year elected amongst the students and faculty, the runner-up is the vice president.
Other Important things to note
All classes are in Korean. Speaking Korean for students and staff is mandatory. For that reason even though we are writing in English, we are all automatically speaking Korean unless specified otherwise. Whether or not your OC can speak other languages is up to you.
This school mostly accepts students from Asian countries, Russia, and Oceania along with exchange students from Europe, North America, South America, and Africa. Non-Korean students and staff will have a student/working visa.
The term Koreans use for non-magical people is Non-Jisul(논지술). So a wizard/witch born from non-magical people is non-Jisul born.
The school building looks like a traditional Korean castle. Like Hogwarts you cannot apparate or disapparate within the grounds and technology does not work there.
Like Hogwarts, 11-year-olds are first years and 17-year-olds are 17th years.
I know Asian languages use completely different incantations but we will use the same ones from the main series to make it easier for all of us.
This takes place in modern times.

First Scene
Everyone is arriving at school for the beginning of the 2023/2024 school year. All students must travel through the magic trail to get to school. However, students who are 17 and have their apparition licenses may apparate outside the school grounds and walk the rest of the way.
