Even JK Rowling said that Draco never had a heart of gold under all his snarkiness, racism and plain bullying. He was just another coward too scared to stand up for what's right, and too scared to stand up for what he believes in.In other words, he's like a lot of peeps irl tbh /npa
Even if this were canon (which it is not) it doesn’t change anything. Crying at Fred’s funeral doesn’t make up for Draco being a jerk while Fred was alive. Draco regularly insulted the Weasley family and made fun of them for being poor. If Draco had the audacity to show up at Fred’s funeral, I would think that George and the rest of the Weasleys would be furious.I think id be mad too
This is not canon.
I think that even if that isn't true and some fan just made it up, I can see it happening and its so sweet.
Why? Draco hates them.
No he doesn't. He was taught to hate them his whole life, but he had his own opinion. He is an awful person, but yourself in his shoes. You can say he was to afraid to stand up for what's right, but imagine if you had to do what someone with the power to kill you and everyone you love told you to. You wouldn't stand up to them and risk everyone's lives.
I mean he used to hate them. In epilogue he doesn't hate them anymore
Correct me if I am wrong, but all Draco did was nod at Harry. That proves nothing. He was a coward, and it's so unlikely that he'd actually go to their funeral. I'm pretty sure that Molly would've screamed at him, and so would've Ron. I don't think Draco ever liked the Weasleys. It's not likely he did that.
In the epilogue, Draco does just nod but this is much more regard than he would've payed harry in their schoolyears, showing a sort of civility. Hope this helped :)
Just because a villain is considered handsome, doesn't mean they're misunderstood.
Did Draco improve? Yes, but it doesn't mean he was secretly wonderful only frightened. He enjoyed bullying, taunting, harassing others. He had no problem with Voldemort's cruelty until it was turned on him and his family. He even blamed his father ending up in Azkhaban on Harry.
What do you think?
