Obviously for plot reasons, september 1st always falls in a sunday in the books, and lessons begin on monday.
Now imagine how cool it would be to arrive to hogwarts and not have lessons the following 2 days. You get a weekend right away.
In my fanfiction im making it be on a tuesday bc thats the real day. I try to keep things organized in my fanfiction haha
