"Hide I just saw Malfoy! I thought you said Ron was on prefect duty tonight?" Fred snapped, dragging George into the broom cupboard.
"Malfoy isn't on duty tonight. It is Ron. I just saw him two minutes ago!" George said, moving to open the door.
"Don't open that! Malfoy might be on inquisitorial duty, and frankly I don't want to be subjected to that stupid quill again." Fred said, his right hand touching the scabs on the back of his left one.
"He isn't. I checked. You've never been paranoid before Freddie. They won't catch us. With the Peruvian Darkness Powder we'll be fine!" George rolled his eyes and shoved the door open.
"Hello!" A voice sounded from around the corner. The voice was familiar, but Fred couldn't place where he had heard it before. Then someone rounded the corner. Luna Lovegood, Ginny's best friend. A blush appeared on Fred's face. He didn't even realize it had.
"It's not Malfoy you imbecile it's Luna." George said, smacking Fred in the back of the head. "Are you blushing?" A smirk appeared on George's face.
"Shut up I am not." Fred whispered, nudging George in the side.
"Yes you are. But that's okay. Everyone gets embarrassed sometimes. I'd be embarrassed too if someone caught me in the middle of a prank. I was just looking for my shoes. Someone took them again... I'll pretend I wasnt here." Luna smiled and skipped away, but Fred walked after her.
"How about I help you find your shoes?" Fred said, smiling.
"If you want to. It's not a problem for me really, I go barefoot all the time now." Luna said, a hint of sadness in her voice.
"No, it's a problem. It's December Luna. I'll help you find them, and neither of us tell Ginny?"
"Yeah. Sounds good."
