This question pertains to the books and movies and I am asking if there was plans that were meant to happen but something or someone intervened and changed it.
Also no need to tell me about the deleted movie scenes I already know of those.
Regarding the books, JKR made plenty of changes that were cut from the final draft. Off the top of my head: she considered several options for the Sorting ceremony before settling on the Hat, there was originally a Weasley relation named Mafalda that played a significant role in GoF, and the person that betrayed the Potters was initially a random Muggle.
