Backstory: Fin’s father is district 4’s ultra rich mayor that views everything as buyable and always wants his son to be the center of attention. Local kids would often treat Fin as an outsider and view him as snobby and selfish due to his family’s obsession with fame and tendencies to bribe people. Fin is often annoyed by his parents buying his way into things and wants to have a normal childhood. Sadly that would never happen, as Fin’s father had recently bought him his way into the district 4 training academy. This cast Fin deeper into guilt and social isolation. Luckily, Fin was able to escape his problems through training, which he was quite good at. The trainers watching Fin train decided he should be moved up a few academic levels to a more suitable class for his skills. The 5th Quarter Quell announcement of only reaping 12 year olds was aired around the same time as Fin’s training success. The Mayor started pouring money into Fin’s training, and announced publicly that his son would volunteer for The Hunger Games this year. Fin didn’t know or agree to his father’s plans for him to volunteer, but went along with them anyway, to make his father proud. On Reaping day after some thought Fin was going to back out of volunteering, when his own name was read the slip pulled from the Reaping bowl.
