In the game the owner of the potions shop in hogsmeade is parry pippin. Since the game came out I’ve wondered if his name was a reference to Peregrine (Pippin) Took from the Lord of The Rings. I’ve looked online and found nothing about it.
Pippin’s potion shop first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (film) as J. Pippin's Potions. In the game, the character Parry Pippin was introduced as the successor of J. Pippin, presumably the shop's founder.
Therefore, the game named Parry Pippin after the character mentioned in the films, not after Pippin from The Lord of the Rings. However, it remains unconfirmed whether J. Pippin from the film was named after Pippin from The Lord of the Rings.
