Why do most people prefer the book bit of Harry leaving the Elder Wand whole and putting it back in Dumbledore’s tomb rather than the movie bit of Harry destroying it?
Because apparently with the Elder Wand destroyed, it could never fall into the wrong hands again and its destruction helped prevent its misuse.
And with Harry becoming an Auror, how can he even know that he probably won’t be disarmed in a duel because that’s what Aurors do and a disarmed Elder Wand owner will lose ownership of the wand to the one who disarmed them. They could even go looking for the wand anywhere, even in Dumbledore’s tomb or even maybe underground.
The only good book thing was Harry using it to fix his holly wand, which he should’ve done in the movie too.
