I would like to propose a change to the off-topic policy on the thread side of the wiki. While I agree that enforcing the rule to prevent users from posting unrelated content — such as morning routines, conspiracy theories, life hacks, and similar topics — is important, I believe certain exceptions should be made.
Specifically, I propose that topics celebrating new months and holidays (e.g., Happy October, Happy New Year, Happy Halloween) and topics announcing personal-but-important news (e.g., a user and wishing to say farewell to their fellow users before leaving the wiki for good) should be exempt from the off-topic policy.
To move this forward, I’d like to open a discussion and hear from the community. I encourage everyone to share their thoughts — whether you agree, oppose, or feel neutral about this idea — to help build consensus.
As I’m not entirely familiar with the formal process of proposing changes here, I would greatly appreciate guidance on whether this approach is appropriate or if there’s a better way to proceed.
Best regards,
Peregino
