Yeah @Crystal Vulptex , the lgbt community always existed, and someones gender identity/sexuality is very rarely defined by what is 'popular' or in the public eye. It's just that as some countries become less prejudiced, many more people (myself included) are a lot more comfortable with coming out. Also, another reason why there is no canon lgbt representation in HP is because Rowling is extremely transphobic. Think before you comment, as that post may have upset other wiki users. Thanks.

Don’t let that ruin your head canon. Until recently in canon Neville spend 9 months of the year at Hogwarts while Hannah stayed at the Leaky Cauldron, that kind of commitment through distance is not uncommon between aromantic people in committed non-romantic relationships.

As an asexual I do feel that I should say that some asexual people do have intimate relations, it’s just in doing so they feel little to no pleasure from it, but many if they are not repulsed do it to please a partner or for reproduction. But yes, the interesting relationship between Neville and Hannah does make the case for aromantic and/or asexual very likely.
