I remember finding Lavender quite annoying the first time I read through all of HP... and my opinion of her is not likely to change, although I'm rereading it and I respect her for asking questions in class, I suppose.
She was quite annoying when she was obsessive and possessive of Ron in the Half Blood Prince and refused to respect his boundaries, but she seemed alright in every other book.
I hate the misogyny in the writing of her character though, because I kind of found Lavender cute, but JK Rowling apparently portrays her traditionally feminine traits as stereotypically annoying, silly and ditzy, which pretty much reinforcing negative stereotypes about women and girls that they'll read into and think is normal when they read it which is just not okay because of what it teaches these women and girls.
