The part in Sorcerer's Stone with Quirrell crumbling to dust was way too scary for 8 year old me. It was a while before I could watch that part again without fast-forwarding the VHS. How did that get into a PG rating?

True.
I was more scared of Voldemort’s face reveal in the sorcerer’s stone and I was EXTREMELY scared of the whispering in the chamber of secrets
I didn't get into HP until I was like.. 10, maybe.. and I read the books first so I knew what was going to happen, so didn't terrify me.
I was terrified of the head in the book because I didn’t remember it from the books so I wasn’t expecting it (I was 8)
I was around 9 or 10 I think, and I was like: Did Harry just kill someone? And like: Is Harry dying?
I barely noticed it when I was younger, but when I got older and finally became a HP fan, yes, I did think it was very messed up that JK Rowling decided to include attempted child murder in a children's book/movie...
I first got into the Harry potter book series when I was 8, and watched the movies when I was like 9 or 10. I was not traumatized, but then again, I have a very interesting imagination.
I'd also read the entire book series before watching the movies, so that might be why I'm deranged like Bellatrix (/jk) and unaffected when I watched the films lol
It got a PG rating because the movie came out way back in 2001.
I watched it for the first time when I was 6, and my dad wouldn't let me open my eyes until I was 8 at the part
I first read all the books and watched all the movies when I was 9, and I wasn't bothered by the dark stuff in the books or films.
What do you think?
