Oh don't worry I'm not saying that Lily shouldn't choke her, she definitely should, and you're right, she does have every right to do it.

But the key difference is if they should and if they would.

Lily should choke Petunia, but that would be out of character for her to do since unlike Petunia who was so full of it all and hated her sister to death, Lily genuinely loved her.
