Blood status

Hi, I'm kinda for fun putting together what would basically be a guide to the Wizarding world for muggleborns. It would be a "book" discussing the government structure, wizarding culture, the economy, but also societal norms, and culture/etiquette of other magical societies such as Goblins and Centaurs. However I am doing this in the context of a fanfic and want to expand on what is canon using fanon. However I would appreciate some ideas from people. I'm looking for the kind of fanon worldbuilding that tends to show up in fanfics. For example:

• Family Magicks

• Wizarding Lordships and Wizengamot stuff

• Gringotts not only being a bank but also being the ones who handle family/inheritance/lordship/Family Magicks records and legal documents. As well as Goblin Culture.

• Wizarding Specific etiquette

• Pagan holidays

• Creature Inheritance type stuff (I'm doing this as a complementary thing for a fic I'm writing that has creature inheritances) and any creatures you'd like to see listed in this creature inheritance guide and anything you can think of about the creature

• The Mechanics of Magic

• Wizarding Values

• Fanon info on specific characters

• House-elf lore

Those are a few examples but any Fanon worldbuilding stuff you can think of and want to share, I plan to upload this guide on AO3 and Wattpad when it's finished

As many of us know probably like the back of Hagrid's Hairy arm, Muggle borns are witches and wizards who were born to two muggle parents who were the descendente of squibs who married muggles. notable Muggle borns include the hard working Hermione granger, the Creevey brothers and even the mother of the boy who lived, Lily Evan’s.

While there are other blood statuses like pure blood who were born from all wizard families and Half blood who were born from one magical parent, I feel Muggle born isn’t that good to describe the status.

I was wondering about muggle norms being called Raw bloods.

The ‘Raw’ can imply that they came from an underlooked origin and it can maybe amplify the topic that some of the well-known muggle norms are some of the most talented of their years. By having Raw talent.

And if something is raw, like meat, it’s not really looked upon positively, Mainly because it's uneddible. This could show how pure bloods despise them but half bloods still view them as equals at the least.

Tell me your thoughts but this is just a suggestion and I hope it works in some aspects.

Okay, this is based off of a essay that I wrote, when we were told to write an opinion essay.

The Pure-Bloods in the wizarding world were intimidated by Hermione Granger for several reasons, primarily rooted in their deep-seated beliefs about blood purity and the superiority of magical lineage. Hermione, despite being a Muggle-born witch with no magical ancestry, consistently outperformed many of her Pure-Blood peers in academic prowess, spellwork, and overall magical competence. Her intelligence, hard work, and dedication challenged the notion that only those born into wizarding families could excel in the magical arts. This shattered the elitist ideology that Pure-Bloods had held onto for centuries, making them feel threatened by the idea that talent and ability were not confined to bloodlines but could be found in anyone, regardless of their heritage.

I didn't know Dursley was a blood status.

It is stated that a wizard or witch can be considered pure-blood if all four of their grandparents are magical, but how does that work? Is it only for pure-bloods and half-bloods, or does it apply to Muggle-borns too? If they had non-magical ancestors or a great-grandparent and etc., could they still be considered pure-blood?

At least mudbloods can DO magic

Say if one part of the family was half blood and the other pure what would the overall blood purity of the family be?

OK So far I've understood this blood thing and the magic gene.

Muggle/Muggle-born + Pure Blood = Half-blood

Pureblood+ Pureblood = Pureblood

Squib ( pure-blood family) + Muggle/Muggle Born = Half-blood (kinda)

But what confused me is the daughters and sons Of Harry and Ginny. Ginny is a pure-blood and Harry is a half-blood but their son Albus is a half-blood too. Though he is Half a pureblood the other half muggle blood, with a Pure-blood mother wouldn't that make him like a 75% Wizard or something. Same goes for is Harry and Hermoine had a child (jus my lil fanfic there d-don't look so deep into it heheehehe) would their sons/daughters be like 25% wizard or something. I don't know honestly

The only half blood I know is Albus Severus Potter

If someone were the child of a magical creature/being and a wizard, what would their Blood Status be? Would they share the same blood status as their wizard parent?

According to HP Wiki: “Pure-blood individuals were people who had no Muggles or Muggle-borns as parents or grandparents.” A magical being is not a Muggle. If the wizard parent was a Pure-blood, would the child also be considered a Pure-blood?

Considering that many people are prejudiced against Half-breeds so it would make sense that people would not be so quick to announce their non-human relative. It makes sense that a part-human would want to have an actual blood status

So if I were the great-grandson of a pureblood wizard who repressed his magic and if the rest of my family were muggles/unknowing squibs, what would my blood status be?

So, even though blood status is not (and shouldn’t be) important, I always wondered why the designations are Pure-blood, Half-blood, and Muggle-born (or the m word). I think a better term for Muggle-borns would be New-bloods so that it’s uniform. What do y’all think?

Also, if a half-blood marries a Muggle-born what blood status would their child have? Sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere else, I'm just curious.

Did any of the Malfoys Besides Draco stop believing in blood purity? Like I know Lucius probably will never stop believing in it but did like Narcissa stop believing in that stuff after the war?
